Exciting young composer performer, bayan player, pianist, contrabassist, arranger, producer and musicologist. "Boris Malkovsky is mixing Jewish traditions with classical, gypsy and downtown improvisation, this is a rich world of lyricism and driving rhythms..." (John Zorn) Boris (Bob) Malkovsky was born in Odessa Ukraine in 1972, and started to study piano at the age of 4 .In 1986 he continued studying composition and improvisation. Boris began to perform in public in late 80-s as a jazz pianist, later also as an accordionist (on classical button accordion - "bayan"). In 1989 moved to Moscow, in 1991 - to Tel-Aviv. Boris recorded in more then 30 albums of jazz, folk, world, contemporary and pop music productions. He has performed with "Israel Contemporary Music Players", "Musica Nova", "The Tel-Aviv Chamber Music Ensemble", "AOC Orchestra", Tempus Quartet, Israel Contemporary Music Quartet and many others. During 1998-2006 took part in more than 50 theater projects with leading theaters in Israel, as: "Gesher", "Khan", "Yiddishpiel", "Habima" and others. As arranger and co-producer ,he took part in the project of Moscow Art Trio with Norwegian Chamber orchestra, which was released at 2008 by Jaro Records. Performed in many jazz, folklore, modern music and chamber music festivals: Shfaim (1992), Inzada- Brussels (1995), Kfar Blum (1997), Abu-Gosh (1998), Klezmer Zfat (2004), KlezMore Vienna (2006), Jazz Globus Jerusalem (2007), Beijing Folk Song Festival (2008), Klezmore Vienna (2008), Jewish Culture Festival Antwerp (2008) and others. In March 2006 released the CD of his project "Bob Malkovsky's Bobe Maises Band". After successful European premiere in Vienna in July 2006 the ensemble were invited to most important world music festivals in Austria, Croatia, Germany, Poland, Scandinavian and Baltic countries. CD "Time Petah-Tiqva" released Tzadik records in 2007. Music originally commissioned by the Tel Aviv Chamber Music ensemble for members ofr the Israel Philharmonic orchestra. Boris Malkovsky- Performs on Bayan together with the Israeli Contemporary String Quartet and Contrabass by Ora Boazson.
