Boris Malkovsky is an outstanding Israeli (Born in Odessa) composer, pianist and bayan master (bayan is a button accordion). Debuted for the NY based label Tzadik (John Zorn) 2007 with "Time Petah-Tiqva" and appears as a shining example in its Radical Jewish Culture series of recordings.
Malkovsky melds modern and postmodern compositional techniques, Gypsy, Jazz and Israeli folk, and improvisational music .Strident tempos, dissonant counterpoint, and real boogie-woogie piano lines and the bayan sprints up and down the minor scale. Boris Malkovsky was selected for showcase Womex 2009 in Copenhagen and performs all over Europe and USA with musicians based in Europe, USA and Israel.
